About the Story
The narrator, Keigan, practices respect by making an effort to be “the best me that I can be.” He describes different situations in which he acts respectfully. His motivation to behave well comes from a desire to express gratitude for the special people in his life, parents, teachers, friends, and more. We learn about how he manages himself when he makes a mistake. He shows respect by apologizing and doing something to redeem himself. “Respect is not only what I say but also what I do.”
