Definition: A friend is someone you like spending time with because they make you feel happy and special, and help you when you need it. In short: Build bonds that last forever. Summary: It was a perfect summer for a young boy until Jeremy Ross, his “only enemy” moves into the neighborhood. His wise dad has an unusual solution. He will make his famous “enemy Pie” and show his son how to use it effectively. Dad instructs him to spend the day playing with Jeremy. Jeremy is not a very good enemy because they have a lot of fun, and this is confusing! They have dinner together and the dad serves the famous enemy pie, which is not poison - in fact, it’s delicious! From then on, the boy loses his best enemy and finds a best friend instead. Lesson Objectives:

Students will be more thoughtful about their relationships with others, especially those with whom they could become friends.
Students will act upon the advice about relationships in this book, and will be willing to put effort in getting to know people, especially about whom they have concepts.
