Definition of Cooperation for 4 - 7 year olds: Cooperation happens when two or more people help each other to make something good happen. It can also apply to animals or parts of a whole that need each other and work together.  An example of this is the human body – all the parts work together to make you healthy.

1. Students demonstrate knowledge of teamwork skills and  cooperative problem solving. They learn how to handle challenges with other team members, contribute their ideas and talents, listen to others, and plan in a way that gives everyone a way to contribute. 
2. Teachers reinforce these skills, especially during activities when teamwork is needed. A chart with the main teaching points about cooperation is posted in the classroom.

2. What are some ways that people ban together in the community? 
3. “Be someone you’d want on your team” - what kind of person would you like to have on your team?
4. When you are doing something with others are you able to be someone you’d like on your team? 
5. Name some of the experiences you’ve had being part of a team  in sports, or in a school project. 
6. For each team experience listed in #5, describe what it was like for you. 
7. How do you feel when someone you’re working with is bossy? Doesn’t let you contribute? Uses put-downs? 
8. Have you ever been in a situation where you helped a person or group solve a problem? What happened and how did you feel about it? 
9. Have you ever been on a winning team in sports or another type of contest? How did it feel to be a part of that?
10. Would you like to be a team leader? Why or why not?
