About the Story
The author, Jennifer Berne, presents a biographical sketch of the life of Albert Einstein, perhaps the most famous scientist in history. She describes how young Albert’s vivid imagination and endless questions sparked a lifelong quest to figure out how everything works. Experiences he had in his youth led to important discoveries in his adult life. For example, when he was a child, Einstein vividly imagined traveling through space “on a beam of light,” an experience that later led to discoveries about the speed of light and other phenomena that no one had ever been able to explain. Intrigued by the laws of physics and mathematics, Albert “saw time and space like no one had ever seen before.”
