Definition: Courage is being willing to face something hard or scary, like trying to do something you’ve never done before. In short: Do good, try hard even when it’s scary. Summary: This book is part of a how-to series about virtues, and this one is about courage. Every page has a “courage card” with a sentence about an action of bravery. Clever illustrations and examples accompany the courage cards, providing lots of ideas for what students can do to grow their courage. Lesson Objectives:

Students copy the courage cards into journal pages, one card/page. They are directed to pick one each day, try to do it, and write and/or draw about their experience.
