Honey... Honey... Lion!

Pre-K & Kindergarten

Activity: Students act out the story with teacher’s guidance. They make up their own actions or use ones suggested by the teacher. Students participate in a discussion about what the words “greedy” and “selfish” mean and how being greedy and selfish got the honeybear into trouble.    Directions: Show the resource video to the class. Ask them to think of actions that go with the story. Invite students to act out the sequence of events in the story using their ideas for actions. Lead a discussion about the words “greedy” and “selfish” emphasizing how our actions have consequences (explain what that means), both good and bad.    Wrap it up: Ask, “Do you think the honeybear learned its lesson? What did he learn? Let’s remember to think about how our actions affect others. We are a team, like the honeybear and honeyguide, and so we want to make sure we’re taking good care of one another, all the time, every day!”
