Activity: Students watch the video. They participate in a discussion about why honesty is a superpower. They practice the “T” sign. They act out different scenarios and discuss the right and wrong ways to behave in response to the circumstances. Materials needed: the video; the scenario cards (see below) - add your own scenario cards for your students based on typical situations they might experience; a teacher made suggestion box and writing paper for students to create their own scenarios (optional)Scenario Card #1: You forgot to do your homework and your teacher is asking you why. Scenario Card #2: You spill your sticky drink and no one notices.Scenario Card #3: You find someone’s lost toy. Scenario Card #4: You don’t want to play with someone but you don’t want to hurt their feelings either. Scenario Card #5: You break someone’s toy. Directions: Explain: “Today’s activity is about a superpower - honesty! We’ll explore why honesty is a superpower, why it is magical! I will show you a video -’Honesty is My Superpower’ and then divide you into pairs. Each pair will get an honesty scenario card to act out.” Show and discuss the video, divide the class into teams of two. Give each pair a scenario card, and a few minutes to read and practice a short drama. Instruct pairs to act out the wrong way first, then the right (honest) way. Coach pairs if necessary. Invite pairs to act out their drama. Tell them to use the “T” sign in their drama. Guide the audience to show appreciation for the actors’ efforts. Wrap up: Explain: “I really enjoyed your short dramas today! If you have an idea about more scenarios about honesty, I’ve created a suggestion box. You can write out your ideas and we’ll make time to act them out! Use the “T” sign to help each other like the brothers did in the story.”
