Be Brave - Song For Children - Nursery Rhymes by Leigha Marina
Activity: Students listen to the video and talk about the message: “you can do anything, just be brave, everything is going to be okay.” They are guided to share about their own experiences with being brave.
Materials needed: the video
Directions: Introduce the video and explain that it’s about having the courage to try something new or difficult. Help students memorize the lyrics and create some motions to go with the words. During circle time, encourage them to talk about the times when they’ve had to be brave. Emphasize the following: “it’s okay to be afraid, making mistakes is the perfect way to learn, you can do anything, and everything is going to be okay.” Ask if anyone needs help being brave about something that is scary or difficult.
Wrap it up: Conclude: “Did you enjoy the video and the song we just learned? I hope you can remember its message: ‘it’s okay to be afraid, making mistakes is the perfect way to learn, you can do anything, and everything is going to be okay.’ Let’s repeat what I just said so you can memorize it. Try to remember the whole thing or even just some of it. The next time you have to be brave, remember these words and repeat them over and over again until you start to feel brave!”
