Materials needed: Video; space for dancing; a vocabulary chart with some or all of the words
Directions: Introduce the video, explain that it’s about how to fix a mistake. Ask students to share about times when they’ve made a mistake, and what they did afterwards - did they say “I’m sorry?” Explain: “It may be hard to say sorry, but it really helps make things better. When we forget to do that, it makes things worse, so it’s good to learn how to do this now and get really good at it!” Show the video, go over the lyrics without the music and talk about it, then guide students to learn the song and even create some dance movements to go with it.
Wrap it up: Explain: “When we make a mistake, and everyone does, we feel bad. It’s good to learn that there’s a way to make things better. We don’t have to keep feeling bad about our mistakes. When we apologize, we get to start over again, and we can try harder not to make the same mistake. Even if we make the same mistake, we can still start over again, as long as we’re willing to apologize and really mean it.”
